Aeromodelling is a type of physical sport, it is also a scientific activity. It requires a long time of production, numerous times of debugging, it is a perfect integration of physical body and machines when chasing the model aircraft flying in the air time after time. Motor, batteries, remote control, steering engine, propellers etc., they are combined to achieve higher, faster and long-term goals by synthesizing various elements and sophisticated coordination, and this is the integration of sports and technology, more significantly, it is also the fundamental of studying aeronautics and astronautics.
 

The 2022 National Youth Aerospace Model Championship and the National Aerospace Model Championship series had been held from 5 to 22 August at Luoshan Aviation Flight Camp, Hongsibao District.
 

The competitions were sponsored by the Aviation Administration Center of the State General Administration of Sport, China Aviation Sports Association, Sports Bureau of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Wuzhong Municipal People's Government, undertaken by Wuzhong City Hongsibao District Committee of the Communist Party of China and the district people's government, and co-organized by Wuzhong City Hongsibao District Culture, Tourism, Sports, Radio and Television Bureau. The theme of the competitions is "Flying Dreams, Beautiful Hongsi Castle". There are 44 individual events and 5 collective events in the National Youth Aerospace Model Championship, with 650 participants. The National Aerospace Model Championship has 37 individual events and 6 collective events, with an estimated number of 450 participants.

 

Conghua Liangkou Airport and Borui Vocational Aeromodelling Training Team have reached an in-depth cooperation, providing the Training Team with professional training venues such as an indoor theoretic learning area, assembly and maintenance area, simulator training area etc. In this competition, there are several students stand out and won multiple gold medals, and have been awarded the National First Level Athletes. To become a National First Level Athlete, you are required to meet rigorous criteria, and possess professional training techniques, undergo training in professional training venues, and having completed persistent training. Apparently, this is the greatest compliment to the teaching and students of the Training Team.

Learning aeromodelling is a process of space imagination. In this process, steps such as frame construction, logical relationship, operating procedure and so on will be constantly hypostatized in your brain, so as to practice your imagination. Trainees will learn to identify problems, develop independent thinking and resolve problems under professional guidance from trainers of Borui Vocational Aeromodelling Training Team in the training carried out in Conghua Liangkou Airport, and improve practice ability and make progress in repetitive honing.

 

 

What advantages will be brought to the educational path?

 

1 No restriction on the applications for schools and programs
Although the minimum requirement of candidates for specific admission test for physical education is to be a national second level athlete, there are restrictions on the applications for schools and programs. In many colleges, the thresholds of some of the admission program is that the applicant needs to be a national first level athlete, especially for less popular programs, e.g. bicycle motocross, trampoline, sailing, softball, motorboat, canoeing, rowing, hockey, fencing and so forth. Most of colleges prefer applicants of these programs being national first level athletes.

 

Therefore, the advantage of being a national first level athlete is that they are unrestricted when applying for schools and programs in most of time.
   

2 Comparatively “eased” conditions in the registration for advanced college entrance examination
The eligibility requirements of registration for advanced college entrance exam are:

 

Be an accredited Second Level Athlete only: Graduates of senior secondary education, and ranked in top 3 in individual events or being 1 of the 6 lead players won in collective events in provincial level and above competitions; Be an accredited First Level Athlete: Achieved education equivalent to senior secondary education;

The eligibilities for the athletes in 2 levels are quite different from each other, compared to the eligibility for the National Second Level Athlete certificate holders, the National First Level Athlete certificate holders only need to complete education equivalent to senior secondary education, which is apparently more eased.

3 Lower enrolment scores in knowledge-acquired course

The minimum scores in knowledge-acquired course for candidates for specific admission test for physical education is 180, colleges can determine their minimum enrolment scores in accordance with their actual conditions in admission, colleges can reduce the enrolment scores in knowledge-acquired course by 30 scores to candidates who are accredited First Level Athletes.

Some people may find it comparatively easy to achieve 180 scores in knowledge-acquired course in the specific admission test for physical education, it seems the advantage is not quite reflected. However, how about the enrolment score in knowledge-acquired course is increased to 300 by some college? (For example, the minimum enrolment score in knowledge-acquired course for applicants of college-bound student-athletes at Beijing Normal University in 2020 was reached to 315). In this case, the advantage of applying for key colleges is reflected. Yet the reduction in enrolment score means lower threshold only, students will be selected by merit-based enrollment with the reference of their comprehensive scores out of the minimum enrolment scores at the end. 

 

4 Candidates of high level sports teams can be awarded the “minimum passing score in specific admission test”
In general, there are 3 minimum passing scores required in the performance in knowledge-acquired course for candidates who participate in high level test, and they are: admission line of average universities, 65% of the admission line of average universities, and admission line in knowledge-acquired course for specific admission test for physical education (normally 180 scores).

 

If an eligible candidate is a National First Level and above Athlete certificate holder, he or she can achieve the minimum passing score in knowledge-acquired course in the specific admission test for physical education after passing the specialty test of the applied college; If the candidate only holds the certificate of National Second Level Athlete, he or she can only achieve the admission line of average universities or 65% of the admission line of average universities after passing the specialty test of the applied college.
 

Regardless of the admission test for physical education, it is a great help in developing hobbies, interests and knowledge for children. When they look for jobs after graduation, students who are accredited First Level Athlete will be preferred by employers. Many athletics clubs and training organizations are more keen to hire candidates who are in higher sports level, they also set specific requirements according to their development needs.   
 

Aeromodelling and flight are quite demanding to the venue, as it needs an indoor theoretic learning area, assembly and maintenance area, simulator training area, as well as a spacious room to place the aircraft and electronic devices and accessories. In addition, for the outdoor, there should be a huge and open space, runway, and airspace for training.
 

Conghua Liangkou Airport provides professional training venue for trainings of Borui Vocational Aeromodelling Training Team, Conghua Liangkou Airport is independently run by Guangzhou Dayu General Aviation Co., Ltd. which is wholly owned by Guangdong Landcapital Investment and Management Group Co., Ltd. It is also registered under the A2 Category of surface-level heliport in the Civil Aviation Administration of China, it occupies an area of around 160,000㎡.
