This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. To celebrate this moment, student representatives of International School of Design, Zhejiang University (ISD-ZJU), were invited by the Ningbo Media to tell their “Belt and Road” stories in a special program.

To support the BRI and propel BRI education cooperation into a high-quality growth stage, ISD-ZJU launched the International Design Education Program (IDE) with the United Nations Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries (UN Technology Bank), the World Eco-Design Conference (UN Consultative NGO), cultivating industrial design engineering masters for the Belt and Road countries. Since the launch of IDE in 2021, ISD has enrolled 132 international students from 26 different countries, all from BRI countries. Furthermore, ISD co-developed the Eco-Design Standards Establishment Platform, founded the General Collaboration in International Design Education (GCIDE), supported the construction of World Eco-Design Conference (UN Consultative NGO), and jointly launched some high-quality teaching and research platforms, including the National Eco-Industrial Design Institute (EIDI), and the Computer Aided Product Innovation and Design Engineering Center (Ministry of Education). What’s more, the Written Statements for the 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67) - “Digital Design·Women Empowerment”, and the Written Statements for the 61st session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD61) - “Advancing Full Employment and Decent Work”, have been included in the UN Digital Library. Also, the International Design Education Program Report was released on the UN Official Website.
