The Regional Center for Educational Planning (RCEP), UNESCO Office Gulf States & Yemen, and UNESCO Headquarters are organizing a regional guidance launch for AI and education: Guidance for policy-makers. The launch will host discussants from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman to examine the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education in each country and envision a common call to action.
This event will serve as the regional launch of the Arabic version of AI and education: Guidance for policy-makers, raise awareness and promote a debate with experts around the theme. It has four main objectives:
Inform key audiences about the application of AI in teaching and learning.
Build an AI community between UNESCO and the Member States.
Present guidelines for policy-makers on how best to leverage the opportunities and address the risks presented by the growing connection between AI and education.
Initiate a conversation on the possibility of developing national policies in AI.
