The UN General Assembly (UNGA) is the main policy-making organ of the United Nations. Comprising all Member States, it provides a unique forum for multilateral discussion of the full spectrum of international issues covered by the Charter of the United Nations. Each of the 193 Member States of the United Nations has an equal vote. The UNGA also makes key decisions for the UN, including appointing the Secretary-General on the recommendation of the Security Council, electing the non-permanent members of the Security Council and approving the UN budget.

In 2017, in the resolution 71/323, "Revitalizing the Work of the General Assembly" of the 71th Session of the UN General Assembly, the Assembly decided to urge candidates for the President of the General Assembly to submit vision statements and engage in an informal interactive dialogue with Member States in order to enhance the transparency and inclusiveness of the electoral process.

During an informal interactive dialogue held on 5 May 2022, His Excelleney Csaba KOROSI, President of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly delivered his vision statement. He said "It is my intention to hold impact-oriented consultations with civil society organizations, youth representatives, science-based knowledge centers and representatives of business communities, key finance institutions and faith-based organizations. I hope to be able to encourage them to bring their contributions to the General Assembly while keeping in mind the interlinked nature of the risk factors we face and the integrated character of the solutions we need.

In this light, His Excelleney Csaba KOROSI, President of the General Assembly convened a Town Hall with civil society representatives on Friday, 2 December 2022, from 10: 00 a.m. to 12: 00 p.m., in the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The moderated event will consist of an opening statement by the President of the General Assembly followed by five short keynote statements from civil society representatives. World Eco-Design Conference was invited to participant in the Meeting by DESA NGO Branch.

The main contents of the meeting are:
 - Solutions through solidarity: The covid-19 has demonstrated how solidarity within societies and among countries has an impact on social and economic stability.
 - Solutions through sustainability: We must get back on track to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Next years SDG Summit at the UN will be a key opportunity to take stock of gaps and recommit to the achievement of the SDGs.
 - Solutions though science: Our efforts to tackle global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, the covid-19 pandemic and the digital revolution have provided us with convincing proof of the role science can lay in shaping decisions on complex issues.
 - Solutions from youth: Youth already have a voice, but they need to be heard, particularly as every negotiating process affects them.
 - Solutions through partnership: In times of crisis, no country without exception can address global challenges alone.

Solutions through solidarity, sustainability, science, youth and partnership are effective ways to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. It is in line with the mission and aims of the World Eco-Design Conference, and we will make continuous efforts to provide more practical, feasible and sustainable solutions for all countries.
