Scope
This award is open to research related to all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), covering all disciplines relevant to sustainable development—including environmental science, urban planning, engineering, public health, economics, and design—with no restriction on topic or subject area.

Eligibility Criteria

Papers submitted for consideration must meet all of the following conditions:

· Publication date: Officially published between January 1, 2024 and October 1, 2026;

· Indexing requirement: Published in journals or conference proceedings indexed by EI, Scopus, or SCI;

· Language requirement: The paper must be written in English;

· Author eligibility: Open to authors of any nationality or institutional affiliation worldwide;

· SDG relevance: The paper must clearly address one or more United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and articulate the theoretical, practical, or policy value of the research toward achieving the relevant goal(s).
 

Methods of Participation

This initiative accepts nominations through two channels:

· Third-party nomination: Any individual (researchers, peer reviewers, practitioners, etc.) may nominate a published paper for consideration. Third-party nominations require prior consent from the paper's first author to be valid.

· Author self-nomination: Authors may directly nominate their own published research for consideration.
 

*If the same paper is nominated by multiple parties, the system will automatically deduplicate the entries and merge them into a single valid nomination record.
 

Submission of Application Materials

Please submit the following materials in accordance with the requirements below:

· Download and complete the SDG Paper Award Application Form, including basic paper information, associated SDG(s), and a statement of contribution;

· Full text of the nominated paper;

· Proof of publication or acceptance;

· Proof of indexing (EI / Scopus / SCI);

· Any other supporting materials demonstrating the value of the research (if applicable).

*If nominated by a third party, a signed or confirmed letter of consent from the first author must also be included.
 

Award

Winning papers will be honored with the Certificate of WEDO SDG Paper of the Year Award.
