Jointly initiated by Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP-CSAM), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Representation in China, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) China Office, World Food Programme (WFP) China Office and China Internet Information Center (CIIC), the Thematic Study and Knowledge Sharing on Sci-Tech Empowering Rural Transformation aims to sort out and summarize the development trends of empowering rural areas through science and technology, and select best practices, especially innovative ones that are sustainable and replicable. Through field visits, theme reports, media coverage, forums, seminars, and sharing of best practices, this initiative aims to share China’s solutions in utilizing science and technology to empower rural areas, and promote knowledge and experience sharing between developing countries. 

 

This report is jointly compiled by ESCAP-CSAM, FAO Representation in China, IFAD China Office, WFP China Centre of Excellence, CIIC, AliResearch and Chinese Academy of Financial Inclusion. Practical new technologies and the latest practices in empowering agricultural value chain development are highlighted in this report.
