On April 14, 2023, the National Eco-Industrial Design Institute (EIDI) and the Guangzhou City Construction College (GZCCC) jointly built the Rural Revitalization Innovation Design Research Center (RRIDRC) and held its Establishment and Unveiling Ceremony in the GZCCC. Ying Fangtian, Dean of EIDI, Jiang Xinhua, President of GZCCC, Zhang Deyi, Vice President of GZCCC, Xiong Xiaobo, Director of Science and Technology Department, Liu Jingqi, Dean of College of Art and Design, Professor Ye Ping, Executive Director of RRIDRC, as well as relevant officials of EIDI, specially invited experts, representatives of the university and enterprise attended the ceremony.
Focusing on rural revitalization and sustainable development, the EIDI-RRIDRC strives to build a leading high-level interdisciplinary rural revitalization innovation design research center and a model rural design talent cultivation base, making efforts and contributions to promoting high-quality development of China's rural revitalization.
At the ceremony, the first batch of academic consultants and special researchers of RRIDRC were appointed. The first batch of academic consultants includes Zhao Jian, Former Vice President of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Haim Dotan, a world-famous ecological architect, He Xiaoyou, Former Vice President of Nanjing University of the Arts, Zhang Linghao, President of Nanjing University of the Arts, Cao Xue, Former Dean of School of Visual Arts and Design, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Zhou Haoming, Director of Institute of Sustainable Design of the Center for Arts and Sciences, Tsinghua University, Duan Shengfeng, Vice President of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Wu Xiang, School of Fashion and Art Design, Donghua University, Feng Xinqun, Former Deputy Dean of School of Fashion and Art Design, Donghua University, and Bao Yixi, Professor of School of Design, Jiangnan University.
The EIDI has thoroughly implemented the requirement that the industrial design shall empower the industrial development profoundly outlined in the 14th Five-Year Plan of China, taken initiatives to bring its superiority in the eco-design area into full play, and proactively practiced the ecological civilization, for a foothold in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, and across the country.In the future, the EIDI will unite with hundreds of institutions, enterprises and organizations, to integrate resources of all parties, construct an innovation network, and accelerate the coordinated development of ecologies of human, industry and environment driven by industrial design,and make contributions to the national strategies including rural revitalization, supporting China in the construction of the “World’s Factory”, facilitating the integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries and the world’s green development.
