On March 26, 2025, the World Eco-Design Conference (WEDC 2025) was held in Bangkok, Thailand. Co-hosted by the United Nations Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries (UN Technology Bank) and the World Eco-Design Organization (WEDO), the conference focused on the theme of “Empowering LDCs, Advancing the SDGs.” The conference attracted important participants from various sectors worldwide, including representatives from Thailand, Embassies and Consulates in Thailand, academia, industry, the UN Technology Bank and the WEDO.


Combining expert-led demonstrations with in-depth discussions, the session facilitated meaningful exchanges among international delegates on technical details and implementation strategies. Covering key sectors such as health, energy, agriculture, and education, the featured projects were carefully tailored to address the priority development needs of the LDCs. The session highlighted the crucial role of technology transfer and capacity building in poverty alleviation and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), earning widespread recognition and strong endorsement from participants.


The WEDO, in collaboration with global international organizations, research institutions, industry alliances, technology transfer agencies, and NGOs, is dedicated to establishing the Technology Programs for Capacity Building in LDCs. This initiative aims to gather and share advanced technologies, successful projects, and innovative achievements from around the world.The successful hosting of this conference has provided practical development solutions for the LDCs and injected new momentum into the realization of global sustainable development goals. Looking ahead, we look forward to working with more partners to contribute to capacity building and sustainable development in LDCs.
