On March 15, 2025, The 2025 International Conference on Innovative Design - Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development (IDAISD2025) was successfully held online. Organized by the World Eco-Design Organization (UN Consultative Status NGO) and BIG.D journal, and co-hosted by National Eco-Industrial Design Institute (EIDI), Computer-Aided Product Innovation Design Engineering Center, Ministry of Education, and Excursion Press Corp (USA), the conference convened global scholars, researchers, and industry experts to explore cutting-edge research and emerging trends in innovative design, intelligent engineering, and sustainable development.
Prof. Ying Fangtian, Fellow of the European Academy of Engineering and Director General of the World Eco-Design Organization, emphasized the pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in driving sustainable design worldwide in the opening remarks. He underscored the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in fostering deeper integration between innovative design and AI technology, ultimately advancing the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The conference received 329 paper submissions from 97 universities across the globe. After a rigorous peer-review process, 103 outstanding papers were accepted, with select authors invited to deliver oral presentations. The event was moderated by Dr. Xue Mengru, associate professor at the international School of Design, Ningbo Innovation Center, Zhejiang University. Dr. Hu Yuqi, serving as an academic commentator, engaged with attendees in in-depth discussions on a wide range of topics, including Material and Technology Sustainability, Product Innovation Sustainability, Civilizational Exchange Sustainability, Digital Health Sustainability, Human-Computer Interaction Sustainability, Ecological Protection Sustainability, Educational Equity Sustainability, and Business Strategy Sustainability.An online exhibition hall was also set up to showcase poster presentations of selected papers, offering an interactive platform for global scholars. The exhibition will remain accessible until March 20.The successful hosting of IDAISD 2025 has further strengthened interdisciplinary collaboration and international academic exchange, promoting the application of AI and innovative design in sustainable development. Moving forward, the conference seeks to expand its influence and strengthen its position as a leading international platform in this field!
