Dalian, China, 7-8 June 2025-The 2025 International Symposium on Intelligent Cultural Creativity and Communication Engineering (ICCCE2025) was successfully convened in Dalian. Organized by Dalian Minzu University and guided by the World Eco-Design Organization (WEDO), the event brought together experts and scholars from leading academic and research institutions worldwide to explore the integration of digital intelligence and culture under the theme “Digital-Intelligent Technology and Cultural Integration for Development.”

As the guiding unit of the symposium, the WEDO reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the global dissemination and implementation of ecological design principles, and to promoting the empowerment of cultural innovation through digital intelligence. Prof. Ying Fangtian, Director General of the WEDO, fellow of the European Academy of Engineering, and Professor at Zhejiang University, delivered opening remarks. On behalf of WEDO, he extended warm congratulations on the successful convening of the symposium, emphasized the significance of cultural innovation in the era of digital intelligence, and expressed hope that ICCCE would evolve into an internationally influential academic platform, contributing meaningfully to the deep integration of global culture and technology.
Opening Ceremony Highlight
The symposium featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Wen Guoshu, Deputy Director of the National Eco-Industrial Design Institute (hereinafter called the EIDI); Koji Shibazaki, Professor at Aichi University of the Arts (Japan); Daisaku Nishina, Professor at Hiroshima University (Japan); Jeung Jihong, Chief Researcher at the Future Lab of Tsinghua University; Zhu Jingjiang, Director of the Center for Visual Anthropology at Minzu University of China; Yue Xiaoli, Director of the Information Center at the Chinese National Museum of Ethnology; and Gong Wenlong, Deputy Director of the Library at the Cultural Palace of Nationalities.
President Zhao Litao delivered a welcome speech.
The opening ceremony was moderated by Prof. Ha Zhengli, Vice President of Dalian Minzu University. In his welcome speech, Zhao Litao, President of the University, expressed gratitude to WEDO and all participants for their support. He reiterated the university’s commitment to fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and to advancing the integration of digital technologies in education, research, and administration. He also expressed the university’s intent to deepen collaboration with WEDO and other partners to jointly chart a promising path for the development of digital-intelligent culture.
Keynote Speech
During the symposium, several significant events were held, including the presentation of the Outstanding Organization Award and the Best Paper Award, the unveiling of the Research Center for Ethnic Cultural Eco-Innovation and Communication under the National Eco-Industrial Design Institute (hereinafter called the EIDI), and the official launch of the English-language academic journal Cultural Heritage, founded by Dalian Minzu University. Editorial board members of the journal were presented with certificates of appointment.The event also featured the ICCCE Academic Committee Working Meeting and four thematic sub-forums. Nearly 300 scholars and experts from dozens of universities across China participated. The live stream attracted over 120,000 viewers, reflecting the increasing academic dynamism and wide-reaching impact of the digital-intelligent cultural domain.

Looking ahead, the WEDO will continue to champion global ecological civilization and cultural sustainability.
