About the DETCE 2025
With the rapid advancement of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC), and intelligent design systems, the integration of creative engineering and design education is accelerating transformation across sectors. Guided by the World Eco-Design Organization (UN Special Consultative Status NGO)and hosted by Guangdong Industry Polytechnic University, the International Symposium on Design Education Technology and Creative Engineering (DETCE 2025) , organized by the School of Art and Design of Guangdong Industry Polytechnic University, will be held on November 11, 2025.
 
DETCE 2025 aims to build a high-level international platform for exchange and collaborative innovation, bringing together global researchers, technology experts, and industry leaders to explore key topics such as AI-empowered education, human-machine collaboration, cultural and design innovation, and the digital transformation of the creative industries-driving the high-quality development of global design education.
 
The symposium will feature a variety of formats including keynote speeches, expert panel discussions, workshops, and research showcases, creating a dynamic and diverse academic exchange platform to present cutting-edge research, teaching experiences, and applied case studies. We warmly welcome scholars, educators, engineers, designers, and professionals from universities, research institutes, enterprises, and related organizations to submit papers and participate in this grand event.
 
The conference is academically supported by a wide range of leading institutions, including Jiangnan University, School of Industrial Design, Nanjing University of the Arts, School of Innovation Design, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Montserrat College of Art, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, University of East London, Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, Nanchang University, Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts, Nanjing University of Industry Technology, Wuhan Technical University, Jinhua University of Vocational Technology, Chongqing Industry Polytechnic University, Chongqing University of Technology, Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College, Tianjin College of Commerce, Foshan University, Nanjing City Vocational College, Hebei Art&Design Academy, Urumqi Vocational University, and also supported by professional institutions including Special Committee of Product Design, Advisory Committee of Art Design Teaching in Vocational Education, Ministry of Education, P.R.China; Light Industry Art and Design Committee, National Light Industry Teaching Steering Committee; China Industrial Design Association Science and Technology Design Branch; Global Art Education Association (GART); Special Committee on Computer Aided Industrial Design, China Graphics Society (CGS); Digital Intelligence Enhanced Design Innovation Laboratory, Key Laboratory of Philosophy and Social Science in General Universities of Guangdong Province.

Topics of Papers
1. AI-Driven Innovation in Design Education Technologies
Exploring the deep integration of AI in art and design education, including AI-based teaching tools, innovative pedagogies and evaluation mechanisms, intelligent teaching platform development, as well as case studies of design thinking training and classroom reconstruction empowered by AI.
 
2. Creative Engineering and Digital Practice Pathways
Focusing on the integration of creative engineering in education and industry, such as the application of digital creative technologies in product, spatial, and interaction design; the development of creative engineering labs; and technical practices like digital prototyping and rapid iterative design.
 
3. Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration and Industry-Education Integration
Discussing collaboration mechanisms between universities and enterprises in cultivating AI-powered design talents, including co-developed curricula, project-based teaching with real industry cases, creative incubation platforms, and new AI-driven models of industry–academia integration.
 
4. Integration and Reimagination of AI and Cultural Creativity
Investigating the innovative use of AI in traditional culture, intangible cultural heritage, and regional cultural resources, such as AI-assisted craftsmanship design, digital preservation of cultural heritage, cultural IP generation, and the transformation of creative cultural products.
 
5. Global Standards and International Collaboration in Design Education
Topics include research on international competency standards for creative design education, cross-cultural and interdisciplinary teaching cases, AI design education accreditation systems, international competitions, and collaborative creative project practices.
 
6. AI Ethics, Sustainability, and Educational Responsibility
Addressing ethical challenges and social responsibilities in AI-powered creative practices, including issues of copyright and ethics in AI-generated content, sustainability in design education, development of AI ethics curricula, and pathways for cultivating students' ethical literacy in AI.
 
Paper Submission
• All submissions must be written in English.
• Submitted papers should be original and unpublished research with significant academic and practical value.
• Please strictly follow the conference paper template when formatting your submission. The Word Template can be downloaded from the "Paper Submission" section of the conference website: https://detce.com/
• Please submit your paper (in PDF format) through the online submission system: https://www.detce.com/submit
• The conference adopts a double-blind peer review process. Do not include identifying information (e.g., names, affiliations, email addresses) in the initial submission.
• If the file size exceeds 10MB, please send it directly to the organizing committee via email: submit@detce.com. Before emailing your paper, make sure you have registered in the submission system and obtained a Submission ID.
• The minimum length of the paper is 4 pages. An extra page fee will be charged for papers exceeding 6 pages.
