Under the theme Memories Fading into Time, the exhibition brings together paintings by more than 50 designers and artists. Focusing on pressing ecological issues including endangered species, degraded wetlands, and disappearing forests the exhibition uses artistic expression to document vanishing natural landscapes, creating visual archives that hold both aesthetic value and contemporary significance.
Rather than simply depicting natural scenery, the artworks represent profound reflections rooted in ecological observation and respect for life. Mountains, rivers, plants, animals, birds, and insects are reinterpreted on canvas, celebrating the beauty of nature while inspiring contemplation of humanity's ecological future. At the opening ceremony, Prof. He Xiaoyou introduced the curatorial vision behind the exhibition. Prof. Liao Jun presented the Chinese painting Traces of Time as a donation to Suzhou New Development Yuanrong Development Group, one of the exhibition's co-organizers, expressing support for ecological civilization through artistic creation. The exhibition attracted numerous visitors, who paused to appreciate the artworks and experience the intersection of nature and culture. Through these artistic encounters, audiences were encouraged to reflect on ecological conservation and the broader imperative of sustainable development.
Moving forward, the WEDO Art Committee will continue to bring together artistic and design talent from around the world, transforming ecological values into creative practice. By strengthening the connection between people and nature through art, the Committee seeks to contribute knowledge, innovation, and inspiration to the advancement of global ecological civilization.
