Professor Zhang Fuchang, inaugural recipient of the World Design Contribution Award, receives the Commemorative Appreciation Medal of the China National Arts and Crafts Society on its 60th anniversary.

Recently, the award ceremony for the 60th Anniversary Commemorative Appreciation Medal of the China National Arts and Crafts Society was held at the School of Design, Jiangnan University. Professor Zhang Fuchang, former dean of the School of Design at Jiangnan University and the inaugural recipient of the World Design Contribution Award, was presented with the China National Arts and Crafts Society 60th Anniversary Commemorative Appreciation Medal.

Cai Daying, Party Secretary and President of the China National Arts and Crafts Society, personally awarded the medal to Professor Zhang, highly recognizing his more than fifty years of dedication to arts and crafts and modern design education. As a pioneer in the discipline of arts and crafts design in China, Professor Zhang has long been committed to the innovative transformation of traditional crafts, the cultivation of design talent, and the development of academic and industry systems, making outstanding contributions to the high-quality development of China's arts and crafts sector.

President Cai Daying presented the commemorative appreciation medal to Professor Zhang Fuchang.

During the ceremony, leaders from the university and the society reviewed Professor Zhang's remarkable achievements in teaching, research, and industry–academia collaboration, praising his efforts in using design to empower the inheritance of traditional cultural heritage. Professor Zhang stated that the honor is both recognition and responsibility, and he will continue to devote himself to research on the revitalization of traditional crafts, promoting their creative transformation and innovative development.
