With the advancement of global sustainable development goals, Least Developed Countries (LDCs) face numerous challenges in education, innovation, and industry. To promote capacity building and sustainable development in these nations, the World Eco-Design Organization (WEDO), in collaboration with global international organizations, research institutions, industry alliances, technology transfer agencies, and NGOs, is spearheading the establishment of the “Technology Programs for Capacity Building in LDCs.”
This initiative aims to gather and share advanced technologies, successful projects, and innovative achievements worldwide. Through technology transfer, knowledge sharing, and international cooperation, it seeks to enhance LDCs’ capabilities in key areas. The United Nations Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries (UNTB) serves as an important partner, supporting the development and operation of these programs while promoting resource exchange and experience-sharing.
Objectives of the Technology Programs
(1) Enhancing Educational Capabilities – By incorporating advanced educational technologies and resources, the program aims to support digital transformation, vocational training, and higher education development in LDCs.
(2) Promoting Innovation – Supporting technological innovation, R&D, innovation incubation, and intellectual property management to strengthen LDCs' innovation capabilities.
(3) Facilitating Industrial Upgrading – Focusing on sustainable agriculture, green industries, smart manufacturing, and energy technology to help LDCs achieve economic transformation and sustainable development through technological advancements.
