On December 21, the 2024 International Symposium on Ecological Design Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development (2024ISEDEAISD) was successfully held in Guangzhou. Under the guidance of the World Eco-Design Organization and the Design Education Branch of the China Industrial Design Association, the symposium was jointly hosted by the Art and Science Research Center of Tsinghua University, the National Eco-Industrial Design Institute (EIDI), and Guangzhou City Construction College. More than 300 experts, scholars, teachers, and students from over 30 universities attended the conference, including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Fudan University, Southeast University, Tongji University, Jiangnan University, Xiamen University, China Academy of Art, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Macao University of Science and Technology, etc.

Guest speeches
Guided by the Sustainable Development Goals proposed in the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with the eco-design concept as the orientation, and with the theme of “Eco-Design Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development”, this symposium focused on the new concepts, technologies, and materials of “the integration of art and science” in eco-design, as well as the theoretical research and practical achievements in related fields. It was an academic symposium aiming to promote the exchange of diverse ideas, open discussions, and in-depth interdisciplinary integration. The conference received 431 submissions from 114 universities around the world. After being reviewed by more than 70 experts, 103 papers were finally accepted.

Sub-forum
The conference set up two sub-forums. Scholars from more than 10 universities delivered paper speeches on topics such as eco-design and the application of artificial intelligence in turn, demonstrating the latest research progress and practical achievements in the fields of eco-design engineering, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development. Finally, 10 excellent papers were selected.
Symposium Highlights
The exhibition will last until December 30, centrally displaying the research achievements of more than 90 scholars, further promoting the theoretical research and innovative practice in the fields of eco-design engineering, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.
