On April 22, 2021, the Earth Day, a grand ceremony of G22 Green Summit and Welfare Forum co-hosted by the China representative office of World Ecology Organization, Guangdong Ecological Civilization Promotion Association, and Guangzhou Plastic-Free New Material Technology Co., Ltd is held in the Eco-Design Town.The theme of the Summit Forum is “Protect Environment for Welfare, Gather Strength for Love”, aiming to escalate the public awareness on the existing environmental issues, and call for civil involvements in environmental protection of plastic ban. On the day, over 40 leading experts, social entrepreneurs, journalists and senior practitioners of public welfare and charities from home and abroad get together in the Town, and have in-depth discussions on issues of public environmental protection industry, plastic-free construction, ecological construction etc., nearly 800 guests attended the Summit Forum.

The Eco-Design Town has always carried forward the development idea of “Industrial Ecology, Ecological Industry”, promoted coordinated development of human ecology, industry ecology and environment ecology. At present, the green and low carbon idea of “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” has been implanted into people’s mindset.The hosting of G22 Green Summit in the Eco-Design Town is a recognition of the ecological development idea of the Town and the achievements of green innovation. The sustainable development ideas of both parties are in line, and green innovation projects will be further promoted to blossom and bear fruit.
 

Since 2018, the Eco-Design Town has applied ecological and low carbon idea, and a group of green and low carbon projects has been successively settled, e.g. the Ecology Gateway, Eco-Design Avenue, International Convention and Exhibition Center, Designers’ Village, S.Resort, ecological corridor renovation of Yadong River etc.Hereinto, the 70,000㎡International Convention and Exhibition Centeris one of the typical examples of the ecological and low carbon idea, having become the highland of convention and exhibition industry in the northern Guangzhou.
 

Until now, a batch of high-end competitions and events have been successively held in the International Convention and Exhibition Center of the Eco-Design Town, such as the First and the Second World Eco-Design Conference for twice, 2019RoboRAVE, 2019Asia-Pacific Forum on Youth Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Clear Waters and Green Mountains Summit, 2020CBN CH50 Guangzhou Conghua Ultra-trail Running Race etc, having received over 200,000 guests from government, enterprises, institutes, academies and media.

Today, as the reporter, I will bring you experience of the charm of green and low carbon in the International Convention and Exhibition Center of the Eco-Design Town.

01 The Green Gene: The Ecological Core Area of Guangzhou
The International Convention and Exhibition Center of the Eco-Design Town is located in the Liuxi Hot Spring Resort area, and occupies an area of 70,000㎡. It is built at a river bank, and the Pomegranate Mountain and the Shimen National Forest Park serve as a foil to it. Having 360 degree panoramic outlook of ecological landscape, it is truly a landmark of convention and exhibition in an idyllic beauty style. Unlike ordinary convention center, the Convention and Exhibition Center of the Eco-Design Town is renovated from a farmers’ market, combing with the concept of “green ecology”, using raw and ecological resources, e.g.bamboo, rocks, flowers and greenery etc. as layouts. Under the beautiful landscape, it is surrounded by greenery, using maximum minimalist aesthetic to interpret the perfect fusion of trendy and tradition, and fully performs the peace of nature and ecological aesthetics.

 

02 Green Architecture: Energy Efficiency
The integral of the Convention and Exhibition Center of the Eco-Design Town is set up in ecological landscape style, the middle axle of the Center are consist of spacious lobby and main venue, and each 400㎡landscape courtyard is respectively allocated in the east and west. The main venue fully carries forward the idea of energy saving and environmental friendly since the beginning of construction. The light source on the roof are provided by 2501 low energy LED bamboo bulbs, and the bamboos are grown in the local.  The Center is fully covered by solar photovoltaic power generation system, striving for a seamless integration of energy saving, environmental protection and ambience of elegance. By the integration of liberal applications of space design, garden edging and materials, the Convention and Exhibition Center of the Eco-Design Town has formed a high quality space for carrying out diversified commercial activities, conferences and exhibitions.
 

03 Green Design: Return to the Essence of Nature
The main venue of the Conference Center covers an area of 1,500㎡, which can accommodate up to 1200 people at a time. It is 14 meters high, and more than twice the size of an ordinary conference venue, thus creating a widely open panoramic view of space. Plenty of natural light is brought in through 2 large floor-to-ceiling windows, and the space is skillfully extended by the landscapes of east and west courtyards, letting the guests enjoy the blue sky, white clouds and lush courtyard views. All designs seek to integrate the green ecology of the nature into the architecture, providing conference participants with comfy and spacious conference experience.

04 Green Facility: Boutique Hotel Experience

The S.Resort is renovated from an abandoned factory and a primary school with sophisticated design, which provides more than 100 guest rooms in different types, e.g. LOFT house, deluxe suite and guest room. In S.Resort, living is not necessarily to be luxury, but it has to be delicate. Toiletries, bedding, and daily necessities etc. are all in 5-star hotel standard. Behind them, there are stories about ecology, environmental protection, aesthetic living and the way of daily life. 103 guest rooms are equipped with private indoor hot spring spas well known as the hot spring in Switzerland which contains radon. Being accompanied by over 10,000 acres landscape of lakes and mountains, you may enjoy it while having thermal spa, and even look up at the sky with stars at night.

Food of Jingbotang Chinese Restaurant and Qingyifang Fusion Restaurant are all local grown, harvested by local farmers and delivered freshly everyday. The naturally nourished food brings out the abundant sweetness and freshness given by the nature, and original ecological ingredients makes green food delicious. The outstanding chef team of the Convention and Exhibition Center in the Eco-Design Town selects local fresh food, and specializes in creative fusions of Cantonese cuisines, thus making our guests have a great pleasure in their taste buds.
