On the morning of April 10, 2021, Guangzhou Conghua Wanqu Cooperative Institute of Design and Zhejiang University, Ningbo hold a signing ceremony for a program, which symbolizes a comprehensive initiation and construction of the Program of International Innovation Base of Eco-Design under the cooperation of the two parties.

The President of Wanqu Cooperative Institute of Design, Professor Ying Fangtian reports about the construction of the Program of International Innovation Base of Eco-Design. At present, design, technology and management have become 3 major dynamics in motivating the sustainable development of the world’s economy..Cities like Guangzhou, Ningbo etc. have become international innovation centers, thus internationalized design talents and design influence can play crucial parts on it. The Program of International Innovation Base of Eco-Design is a platform for education cooperation for international postgraduate students co-established by the United Nations Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries and the World Eco-Design Conference, raising the international competitiveness for regional economy by internationalized talents, and integrating the resources of Wanqu Open University of Design, NingboTech University and other international leading universities to found innovation class for both undergraduates and postgraduates, which consists of innovative education, innovative research and innovative industry.

The International Innovation Base of Eco-Design co-established by Wanqu Cooperative Institute of Design and Zhejiang University, Ningbo, will adopt amodule of innovative education, innovative research and innovative industry, being constructed as an International Innovation Base of Eco-Design characterized with integration of design, technology, commerce, user and culture that is committed to forging the highest point of innovative design, fostering inner dynamism for sustainable development, bringing the advantages of both parties' resources and platforms into full play, cultivating postgraduate or above leveled top talents, supporting research and development projects of eco-design, introducing advanced technologies and realizing their transfer and transformations, and providing technological support for enterprises. Meanwhile, both parties will also initiate to establish an Institute of Information Product Engineering Design, which will be open to collect social resources, promoting interactive cooperation between the Institute and social resources in a positive way.

Professor Ying Fangtian guides a group of leaders from Yinzhou District, Ningbo and Zhejiang University, Ningbo to visit the construction of the Eco-Design Town. By the hosting of World Eco-Design Conference, the Eco-Design Town builds up its global brand influence of eco-design industry, and aggregates the talents in the eco-design industry of the globe. Exploring new paths of industrialization of rural revitalization, it is endeavor to construct a scenic countryside which is comparable with the first-class Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and world-class urban cluster, establish industrial parks in new module, and endeavor to build the Global Eco-Design Sourcing Center, Chinese Capital of Eco-Design, and New Height for Design and Innovation, High-end Talents Training and Exchange in the Greater Bay Area.
