It is a bright and breezy day in sunny March, and everything in the Eco-Design Town grows fast. In recent days, the Party Secretary and Chairman of Guangdong GW Holdings Group Co., Ltd, Mr. Fang Qichao, Deputy Party Secretary, Director and General Manager, Mr. Liang Qingyan, and Outside Director, Mr. Li Kerang etc.visits the Eco-Design Town to carry out research and investigation.

On the day, Mr. Li Bingkun, President of Guangdong Landcapital Investment & Management Group Co.,Ltd., the investor and operator of the Eco-Design Town, and Mr. Ying Fangtian, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Zhejiang University, Vice President and Secretary General of China Industrial Design Association receives the delegation. Prof. Ying introduces the sustainable development philosophy of the Town “Green and Low Carbon”, and the ideology of design that design is capable to attract non-locals to bring industries here, yet remind them of their hometown while enjoying the view of mountains and waters.

The delegation has an in-depth understanding of the construction achievements of the eco-design town in industry, technology, culture, design, and environment., and numerous technological products of low carbon innovative technology enterprises introduced in the Town. The Party Secretary and Chairman of Guangdong GW Holdings Group Co., Ltd., Mr. Fang Qichao fully acknowledges the philosophy of “Green development is driven by innovation”, and he believes that the Eco-Design Town has laid a solid foundation on the layout of constructing the Guangdong Eco-Design Industrial Cluster Area, as well as the Ecological Green Valley that people enjoy living, working and travelling in.

After over 2 years of construction and development, the Eco-Design Town has become an eco-design industrial cluster area combining convention and exhibition, industry, culture, leisure, tourism, sports, education and therapy.

Eco-Design Town is a new module of industrial park in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area established in the context of the cooperation on the Sino-Swiss Low Carbon Cities Project, which strives to forge a high end industrial development platform aiming to become a “Global Eco-Design Sourcing Center” and “Chinese Capital of Eco-Design”.
 

Since 2018, the construction phase 1 and 2 of the Eco-Design Town are being facilitated steadily, and a group of construction projects like the Guangdong Research Institute of Eco-Industrial Design, the world’s first design themed hotel, China’s first designers’ village, ecological renovation of Yadong River etc. settled and came into use successively. A number of achievements have been made when promoting industrial revitalization, talent revitalization and cultural revitalization.

As a sample of exploration for development of rural revitalization in Guangdong Province and even the whole country, the Eco-Design Town has been covered at a stream of reports on rural revitalization achievements by various national mainstream media, e.g. People’s Daily, Xinhua Agency, CCTV etc., obtaining continuing coverage and winning compliments.

Over the past Spring Festival holiday, the Eco-Design Town received an accumulation of nearly 80,000 visitors. From the first day of the Lunar New Year, the Town has been bustling and crowded, and rooms at S.Resort had been even all booked out half month ago, which is very popular. The Eco-Design Town has become a new tourist attraction of Conghua in recent years.

Groups of tourists come in flocks, they play, travel, try local gourmet foods, and enjoy wilderness scenery, having great time with families and friends in the poetic and picturesque landscape.
 

“Now when walking in the Town, if you see people wearing backpacks, they are probably from the urban area of Guangzhou. In addition of those everyday walk-ins, there are 70-80 groups of tourists for each month. ” The First Party Secretary stationed in Tangwei Village of Liangkou Town, Ms. Zeng Xinying says, “The large volume of people has significantly increased incomes of local restaurants and guest houses in rural area”.
 

“There is soil for creativity.” This is the first impression of Mr. Li Xuesong, a designer born in 1990s. In 2018, Guangzhou Jiansu Technology Co., Ltd, a designing company charged by Mr. Li Xuesong settled in the Eco-Design Town as one of the first group of settled enterprises.
