Spring comes early when people are diligent, and rural revitalization is just at the right time. This year marks the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and it is also a critical period for Guangzhou to promote the realization of new vitality of the old city, and facilitating new progress in all works in comply with the "Four Outstanding Action Plans".

The China Media Group has introduced an extensive politics and current affair program of its media convergence, “Spring Comes Early in Lingnan” prior to the National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, fully showcasing the development achievements of Guangdong Province since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and an ambitious blueprint of the 14th Five-Year Plan in 6 aspects of high standard opening up, a mega project of Greater Bay Area, science, technology and innovation, developing advance manufacturing clusters, rural revitalization, and Lingnan culture.
 

Thereinto, the theme of rural revitalization has chosen Conghua, Guangzhou as a role model of live streaming of rural revitalization and development in Guangdong Province. The China Media Group focuses on the Eco-Design Town as a point, applies it to broader areas to demonstrate the exploration achievements of the rural revitalization of urban-rural integration development of the megacity, Guangzhou at all round.
 

The live stream crew of CCTV presented a 50 minute live broadcasting of “Rural Revitalization” in the Eco-Design Town, Conghua District, Guangzhou in the morning hours on February 28. Live streaming platforms of new media of the China Media Group, such as CCTVNEWS, cctv.com, cnr.cn etc. have given live coverage of the show.

01. Eco-Design Empowers Rural Revitalization
In 2018, the construction of Eco-Design Town was proposed to carry out in Tangwei Village and its surrounding area in the north of Conghua. The little mountain village, with a population of nearly 2000, has initiated its industrial development with the empowerment of design, and promoted an innovative practice of turning lucid waters and lush mountains into invaluable assets”.

Green is the background color of rural area, which is also the “capital” for development. The Eco-Design Town was constructed within 89 days, by extensively applying ecological low carbon and environmental friendly technologies during its construction, without any additional construction land throughout the process, which successfully transformed an abandoned farmer’s market in a rural area into the permanent venue of World Eco-Design Conference, and created the Guangzhou's Speed and Guangzhou’s Quality.

Old factories being reactivated, intense nostalgic scenes come back. The once abandoned market has been switched to the venue of a world-class conference, and the silty river has been replaced by green banks, sightseeing platforms, and waterfront paths, bringing the glow back.

On the bank side, sunflower, and Galsang flowers are in blossom, and the lush green lawns have become good places for people’s picnic and intimacy with nature.

02. Cantonese Chef Brings Out the New Flavor of Rural Revitalization
In 2020, a Cantonese Chef Practice Station was established in the Eco-Design Town, at here, Cantonese chef uses innovative cooking techniques and local foods to create modern Cantonese cuisines, bringing out the new flavor of rural revitalization.

The establishment of Cantonese Chef Practice Station and the integral development of the Town promotes each other, the Eco-Design Town will enhance the techniques and quality of Cantonese culinary talents progressively by initiating vocational training of Cantonese chef, thus forging the cultural branding of “Cantonese Chef”.
 

The Town also inaugurates modules such as “Cantonese Chef+Tourism” etc., to accelerate the development of local tourism, facilitate the employment and entrepreneurship for urban-rural workers, and further motivates to eliminate poverty for villagers.
 

Last December, the celebrity chef cooking Cantonese dishes at S.Resort, Mr. LI Yansheng presents on the prime variety show of Hunan TV, Day Day Up on behalf of the Eco-Design Town, showing the audience across the country modern Cantonese cooking techniques. Wang Han (the host), Wang Yibo (guest) and other celebrity guests are full of praise for the freshness and tastes of characteristic Cantonese cuisines.

03. Industrial Empowerment Sings Out Rural Revitalization
Since 2018, the Eco-Design Town has hosted 2018 World Eco-Design Conference and 2019 World Eco-Design Conference consecutively, having attracted 76 enterprises of eco-design industry, and a batch of high-end personnel such as academicians, designers etc., as well as promoting the forming of industrial system led by eco-design industry and based on modern agriculture, conference and exhibition, leisure tourism, culture and sports.

In September 2020, the “ Fly Up to Sky Conghua” project was signed and settled in the Eco-Design Town, which symbolizes the official launching of aviation research and learning program of the Town.

The aviation research and learning base in the Eco-Design Town occupies an area of around 16000m², and it is a practice base for integrated aviation education combining with aviation science popularization and exposition, low-altitude flight tourism and professional flying education.
 

Thereof, the first group trial flight of low flying helicopter, paramotor, delta wing aircraft was conducted in January this year, successful trial flights of hot air balloon and 2 seat paramotor were also on live on that day.
 

Being well prepared on early stage will deliver the reinvented air travel experience by just a click, providing platform and support for popularization of aviation knowledge to the youth, and cultivation of interest and talents in aviation.
 

Journalist of China National Radio of the China Media Group, He Weiqi states that, what he saw after his arrival in the Eco-Design Town are not only the gourmet Cantonese cuisines in the village, but also eco-design, deluxe B&B, and high-end talents, which are great reflections of positive transformations of a village.
 

This time, CCTV accessing to the Eco-Design Town to live broadcast the achievements of rural revitalization, is an acknowledgement and encouragement.
