Following by Yadong River landscape zone has become the instagrammable place of Conghua, Guanghzou, Eco-Design Town brings another new landmark at the bank of Liuxi River! The Eco-Design Town Project Phase II, S.Resort will be in pre-opening in Oct this year.

 

Vacant Rural Premise Transformed into Design Hotel

In 2018, Conghua District government proposed to build an Eco-design Town in 3 villages in Liangkou Town, they are Tangwei, Liangming and Liangping villages, on the principal of without any additional construction area, to complete a series of transformations of Phase I of the Project including Conference Center of Eco-Design Town, Eco-Design Avenue, Wanqu Open University of Design etc. within 89 days by efficiently using vacant resources, e.g. abandoned farmer’s market and others in rural area.
 

 

As a major industrial facility of the Town and Sino-Swiss Low Carbon Hotel Project, S.Resort is one of the key proposals of Phase II of the Eco-design Town Project, the construction was initiated in 2019.
 

The S.Resort is located at the riverside of Yadong River at the Eco-design Town within Liuxi Hotspring Scenic Area in Conghua, Guangzhou, it is approximately 60 minute drive to the central of Guangzhou, and Baiyun Airport, 10 minute drive way from Wenquan Town Exit and Liangkou Town Exit of Daguang Highway.
 

The hotel is named S.Resort, it allusions to a literary quotation of Shangshan Ruoshui, it means centering on design industry to forge superior, luxury, unique products and services with the characteristics of purity and agility of water, and provide qualified cultural and tourist experience for customer groups of convention and event participants, tourists and travelers etc., elevate living qualities of workers of the Town’s enterprises and surrounding residents comprehensively, and perfect services system of Liuxi Hotspring Scenic Area.
 

S.Resort has inherited the philosophy of “No massive demolition and construction, no imposing uniformity ”, it has developed and
protected vacant premises and natural resources in rural area to the maximum extent. By the application of low carbon environmental friendly technologies and expressions of eco-design, S.Resort is the result of rebuilding and utilization of partial constructions of the primary school of Liangming Village and a toothpick factory, and it has become another vivid practice of “a beautiful village lit by design creativity” of the Town.
 

Among them, the old teaching building of Liangming Primary School has been transformed into a guest house containing 5 types of guest rooms. Each guest room has a decorated door with unique pattern printed by digital art technology of the Town, and a spa pool at the balcony infused with valuable and rare Liuxi hotspring which contains radon soda. 
 

Even the two old trees planted in the primary school for over a hundred years are conserved with care, and have become a sophisticated landscape, and achieved full integration and intergrowth of modern design and natural humanity. Whereas the old toothpick factory has now been transformed into “Red Mansion”, a creative space combining accommodation, event, exhibition, entertainment and live stream economy by removing partial dilapidated buildings and adding additional reconstruction.
 

As an innovative hardware facility set up by the hotel, it is exclusively for group tourism, customized activity and implementation of live stream economy, the “Red Mansion” will exceed the scope of business of a traditional hotel, and explore an innovative business model of “New Retail+New Customization” for the revitalization of local rural area.
 

Integration of Green Ecology and Modern Design

To date, S.Resort is the first design themed boutique resort hotel in the nation, there are various types of guest room and loft house to choose from.
 

Spacious and bright floor to ceiling window, stylish ornaments and decoration, distinct greenery landscape...from lobby to corridor, from guest room to the Lounge, you can always get the beauty of different scene by just one step everywhere at S.Resort, and experience the skillful integration of ecology and design.
 

In the aspect of supporting facility, there is Serene Chinese Restaurant, Cheers Restaurant, Moonbuck Lounge providing traditional Chinese cuisines, exquisite western styled food and also signature dishes of Conghua, fresh food are picked and delivered by surrounding farmers everyday.

It is worth mentioning that to combine with the local characteristics, S.Resort provide gifts of well packaged dried lychee, longan and the Three Course Tea etc. for our tourists for free at the guest rooms, so as to positively advertise and promote Conghua.

S.Resort was allegedly proposing its pre-opening during Spring Festival of Luna New Year 2020 and then was postponed due to the unexpected COVID-19 as an implementation of the pandemic control measures, S.Resort has further improved its space, site layout, greening and interior decoration during the first half year of 2020.
 

In the double festival of National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival this year, S.Resort is ready to welcome guests from all over with its brand new appearance. On the occasion, the pre-opening of Phase I of the Project, e.g. guest room building (the renovated part of primary school building), Chinese and western restaurants, the Lounge and loft houses of some areas etc.  will be launched, and the guest rooms of Phase II of the Hotel, swimming pool, beach volleyball, hotspring spa etc. featured sports and recreation program are estimated to operate during the grand opening at the end of 2020.
 

Establish a Broader Stage for Employment of Local Residents

To further open the transforming channel between “Lucid waters and lush mountains” and endless wealth, The Eco-design Town always remember its mission of creating job opportunities for local people in every link during its development and operation, S.Resort also insists on attracting local talents, at present, there are over 100 employees of the Hotel, 70% of them are Conghua locals.
 

Hotel Western Restaurant Manager, Pan Xiaohong, comes from Jiekou, Conghua, has been working at branded hotels outside Conghua for 8 years. Considering her young children in need of home care, she always wanted to return Conghua to work, but she couldn’t find a platform and job that suite her. “Working at S.Resort, i can release my professional skills, knowledge and management, and take care of my family nearby, I can't be happier than this.”
 

Meanwhile, S.Resort is endeavour to bringing in professional talents of various industries from outside to settle in Conghua. Graphic designer of Marketing of S.Resort, WEN Yuling, comes from Jiangmen, Guangdong, she learnt about Eco-design Town and S.Resort when she graduated this year, she likes the working environment and platform space here, and decided to stay in such beautiful place. She had her first step of her career by applying her profession and specialties, “S.Resort will receive many important visitors of the Town, looking at my design pieces and posters used everywhere in the Hotel makes me feel fulfillment.”
 

Along with the settlements of construction cluster of Phase II of the Eco-design Town Project, including Conghua Yadong River landscape zone, S.Resort, I-City etc., the Town is in the progress of perfection in terms of supporting facilities.
 

In the future, the Eco-Design Town will play its full role as part of the World Eco-Design Conference branding and the advantage of innovation platform of Eco-design industry, support Conghua to facilitate its achievement of green rise as a powerful drive, and be a firm step of propelling constructions of demonstration area of rural revitalization and a happy and beautiful ecological city.
