The original literary work behind this digital asset collection was written by Qiu Huadong, Vice Chairman of the China Writers Association, Curator of the National Museum of Modern Chinese Literature, and a member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference — one of the most influential figures in contemporary Chinese letters. Over more than four decades, he has produced an extensive body of work spanning novels, novellas and short fiction, essays, and literary criticism. His writing moves from the youthful reveries of the western frontier to the inner landscapes of urban life, using restrained, delicate prose to uncover the hidden folds of ordinary lives shaped by time. Translated and published across many countries, his work combines literary depth with a keen sense of the times, placing him among the leading voices of contemporary Chinese literature.
Given Form in Oil: An Aesthetic Reinterpretation of the Text's Emotional Core
The full oil painting series was created with dedication by Professor Ying Fangtian — Fellow of the European Academy of Engineering and Director General of the World Eco-Design Organization — together with his team. Drawing on principles of ecological aesthetics, he dissolves the boundary between text and image, freeing visual art from the role of mere illustration and giving it an independent expressive force.
Through bold topological aesthetics and fluid forms, the artist fuses figures, natural elements, and wild landscapes into a single spatial narrative deeply entwined with emotional depth.
