Recently, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism released data shows that A total of 115 million domestic tourists were received across China during the May Day Holiday, raking in 47.56 billion yuan in revenue. Unlike in the past, rural tourism, suburban travel and other short-distance tourism has become the main theme of this "May Day holiday." According to the data released by Mafengwo tourism, tourists concentrated on travelling around the city, and self-driving, hot springs, camping are the top three playing way in the May Day Holiday. There is no doubt that the suburban tour has become the mainstream of this holiday.
 

The Eco-Design Town, about an hour's drive from Guangzhou, has also become a popular suburban trip for punchpoint in the May Day. The Yadong River ecological corridor, ecological tour with lucid water and lush mountain , camping picnic and other new rural tourism industries are extremely hot, and attracted nearly 100,000 citizens. So why is this small town so attractive?
 

Value-leading, a new business card for eco-tourism

Ms. Chen, a citizen who drove here with her kids from Guangzhou said, “The visitors flow-rate is not so dense and the air is fresh. It is suitable for family day out and the front and rivers are the favorite for kids. They have been here for many times.”
 

In fact, the ecological advantages on both sides of the Yadong River have been revealed during the 2nd World Eco-Design Conference. The success of the Theme Lighting Music Show, Night of Ecology·Music Festival and other activities that attracted multitudinous attention, all contribute to forming a new landmark of in suburban trips Guangzhou.  
 

Theme Lighting Music Show

On Nov 29 last year, the eve of the 2nd WEDC, staging on green mountains and river, a themed lighting music show was performed on the beautiful Yadong River.  There’s no constructed arena and backdrop, all from the local source, the Yadong River waterside platform is the arena, back-dropped by mountain forest of the Town. loquacious glide, embankment landscape, fruit trees and flowers are all highlight by being surrounded in light beams, a large space of 3D music lighting show integrated by mountains forest, rivers, shadows and music, to forge a highly iconic eco-stage.
 

It was a cold night though, but still a number of residents and tourists nearby were attracted by the show.  “It is romantic to enjoy an open-air concert across the river ” said Aunt Chen who lives in Yadong River neighbourhood.
 

Night of Ecology·Music Festival

“It was an awesome show tonight!” in the evening of Dec 6 last year, a number of music bands brought hot shows to the Night of Ecology·Music Festival, the air was hot, and lights up the night economy of Conghua.
 

As a mega outdoor cultural event that is newly introduced to the second WEDC, the scene was a gathering for the big shots, songs performed were classics from domestic and abroad round up, including originals and adaptions combining rock and roll, pop, electronic and other musical elements.

On the scene, the Guest Countries of Honor, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Thailand, brought an international, integrated and innovative cultural feast to the participating guests and local residents by their exotic performances.
 

Meanwhile, as one of the WEDC activities, Hand Painted Flashing has attracted many young designers to take part. An area of 20,000 sq of outdoor lawn brought by Phase II reconstruction, enabling the little town having more colourful spaces to launch various trendy events. These activities was organized at the banks of Yadong River, it reflects the resistancy of Eco-Design Town towards green development, on the other hand, it is a demonstration of rural revitalization construction of Conghua.
 

Led by Design, Forge New Boutique of Town Tour

On weekends, bunches of tourists take photos and have fun on the glass bridge of Yadong River, a clear picture of a building complex behind them is emerged after polishing of several months. The S. Resort located in the south bank of Yadong River will be officially open this September, it is another great choice for family getaways for tourists from Guangzhou and surrounding cities.
