Jan 18, 2024, is the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month, also known as Laba Festival. On this special day, students of International School of Design, Zhejiang University (ISD-ZJU) were invited to join in the celebration activities organized by Xi Lin Academy, learning about traditional Chinese culture and custom.

 

Mr. Simon GUAN, from the Xi Lin Academy, lead the students around the Xi Lin Monastery, and introduced the origin of Laba Festival. Later, under the guidance of Mr. Bin JIANG, students experienced the custom of Laba by writing the character of "Fu" themselves, and enjoying the Laba Porridge. Moreover, Master Zhaoqin, the abbot of Xi Lin Monastery presented the "Fu" written by himself to all the students, expressing his deepest blessings.
