The 2024 International Symposium on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Interaction Design (UIID2024) was successfully held on December 7, 2024, in Nanjing, China. Guided by the World Eco-Design Organization (UN Consultative Status NGO), the symposium was organized by Southeast University and Jiangsu Province Industrial Design Association. UIID2024 provided a platform for  academic and industrial communities in the field of ubiquitous intelligence and interaction design to exchange and collaborate, promoting theoretical research and global development in areas such as digital art and intelligent interaction.

Professor He Xiaoyou, President of Jiangsu Industrial Design Association and Former Vice President of Nanjing University of the Arts, along with Professor Ying Fangtian, Director General of World Eco-Design Organization and Fellow of the European Academy of Engineering, delivered opening speeches at the symposium.

The symposium focused on the theme of “Ubiquitous Intelligence and Interaction Design”, covering key topics such as “Intelligent Design Semantics and Narratives”, “Intelligent Design Creativity and Evaluation”, “Intelligent Design Cognition and Symbols”, “Intelligent Design Technology and Craftsmanship”, “Intelligent Design Human Factors and Engineering”, “Design Intelligence and Interaction”, “Intelligent Design Ecology and Sustainability” and “Design Optimization and Ergonomics”. The symposium aimed to explore the innovative application of intelligent technologies in design and their impact on user experience, production efficiency, and social development. A total of over 300 submissions were received from renowned universities and research institutions worldwide. After rigorous peer review, 100 papers were accepted for presentation.

Professor Qin Jingyan, Professor at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, Changjiang Scholars Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education, and member of the Industrial Design Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education; Professor Hu Jie, Distinguished Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, National Leading Talent under the Ten Thousand Talents Program, and Changjiang Scholars Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education; Professor Zhang Ya, Young Distinguished Professor at Southeast University, Vice Dean of the School of Future Technology, and member of the Society of Intelligent Aerospace Systems of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence; and Professor Xue Chengqi, Second-Level Professor at Southeast University, Vice President of the Chinese Ergonomics Society, and Chair of the Design-Ergonomics Division, each delivered a keynote speech.
