TIA·Vatti 2019 Kitchen Innovation Design Competition is jointly held by organizing committee of World-Eco Design Conference and Vatti Co.Ltd, supported by UNIDO International Eco-Design Promotion Center and China Industrial Design Association. The highest award of this competition-Outstanding Design Award is won jointly by designer Feng Zhixing and Li Jiecheng. A One-Two Punch, to forge China’s top design competition platform

As renowned kitchen appliance brand, Vatti has been developing and exploring in the kitchen appliance industry for many years, and it knows the importance of design for products and enterprises and is committed to encouraging China’s design to move forward. Vatti also insists on bringing high-quality kitchen appliances and experience to the consumer through innovative technology and better design philosophy. Therefore, Vatti uses “Innovative Kitchen” as the topic of this competition and expects designers can design futuristic kitchen scenes full of new ideas and inspiration.
 

Lasting for 37 years, TIA Award began in 1980s and an international design award jointly held by many national design organizations in the world including China Industrial Design Association, and it is given to outstanding designers. This year, together with TIA, Vatti upgrades the previous Industrial Design Competition as TIA·Vatti 2019 Kitchen Innovation Design Competition and focuses on the design in the future kitchen appliances.
 

Five Expert Judges and Six Creative Mentors

Vatti not only realized the upgrade of competition, but also invited domestic design experts as professional judges group, including Professor Ying Fangtian, Vice President&Secretary General of China Industrial Design Association and Professor&Doctoral Supervisor from Zhejiang University, Mr Pan Yejiang, Chairman of Vatti Corp.Ltd, Mr Yu Biao, Founder&Chairman of Feish Design, Mr Zhang Jianmin, Founder&Design Director of CIGA Design, Professor Zhang Jian, Professor&Master’s Supervisor from School of Industrial Design of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. They strictly evaluated the works from four dimensions of function integration, space saving, excellent experience and enjoyable kitchen.
 

Meanwhile, six professors of design major from China’s renowned colleges were invited as expert mentors, including Mr Deng Rong, Dean of Industrial Design Department of School of Design of Jiangnan University, Mr Wang Qingbin, Dean of School of Design and Art of Henan University of Technology, Mr Zhang Ming, Vice Dean of School of Industrial Design of Nanjing University of the Arts, Mr Fu Bo, Diector of Product Art Design Major of Guangdong Industry Polytechnic, Mr Zhang Kai, Vice Dean of Art School of Jingsu University, and Mr Yang Daolin, Associate Professor from College of Arts of South China Agricultural University, to provide guidance for candidates entering preliminary competition. This will not only provide a professional platform for candidates, but also help them to strengthen their design ability and activate their inspiration.
 

2100 excellent designers attending competition of seven month

Since June 5th, TIA·Vatti 2019 Kitchen Innovation Design Competition was officially launched. In these seven months, under the topic of “Kitchen Idea”, the designers from all over the country design futuristic kitchen with innovation design philosophy, and transform various kitchen scenery from imagination to excellent design works in people’s daily. There were about 2100 candidates from over 100 design colleges and over 20 design agencies attending the competition with more than 1700 professional works and more than 400 non-professional works.
 

In this competition, many participants learned a lot. One of the participants, Wu Qi from Henan University of Technology mentioned that the largest harvest is experience. Because of learning more product categories, the design and control capability has been increased, the horizon has been broadened and the design development will be broader. Jia Changjie and Liu Yitong from Liaoning University of Technology said this competition has inspired more design new ideas. They have learned brand new design philosophy and more knowledge about product design.
 

Prize of a million yuan , exploring future kitchen development with China’s design talents

Vatti’s relation with design community did not begin in this year. In 2006, Vatti began its cooperation with China’s industrial design community. Now Vatti Industrial Design Competition has been held for ten times and it has won the support from kitchen appliance industry and China’s industrial design community. The competition organizer has cooperated with dozens of colleges for several years, including Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University, Hunan University, Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Jiangnan University, China Academy of Art, Beijing Institute of Technology, and Wuhan University of Technology. This competition has become an influential professional design competition in China's kitchen appliance industry.
 

Vatti, after developing and exploring for many years in kitchen appliance industry, is familiar with the importance of design for product and service and is more willing to proactively drive the development of China’s design and improve our life with innovative design. In this competition, the organizer set the prize of one million yuan to activate new energy and motivation for China’s industrial design.

Driven by smart technology, intelligent kitchens are replacing traditional stoves, and innovative cooking scenes and family models are emerging in people's expectations. In addition to intelligent technology, Vatti works jointly with China's industrial design community and tries to depict the most beautiful form of kitchen life in the future from the unique life perspective of numerous designers. Now that we have witnessed these creative kitchen design works, we are looking forward next year’s Vatti Kitchen Design Competition and expecting more surprises.
