December 9th Report(Yang Wangchun) From December 6th to 7th, the Second World-Eco Design Conference was held in Conghua Eco-design Town. Because of novel pattern and superb technique of Miao embroidery works, Wu Qianjin, the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage Miao embroidery from Chengbu won the 2019 Innovative Design Award.

Hmong girl Wu Qianjin was born on1985 in Lali Village of Chengbu Wutuan Town. She began to learn embroidery from her grandma when she was six and later from her mother. When she was ten, she was able to embroider many fancy and novel patterns. Now she is the only inheritor of intangible cultural heritage Chengbu Miao embroidery. Her embroidery works are very popular in the market. In 2015, Wu Qianjin established Cultural Research Institute of Chengbu Miao Embroidery. After ten years of collection, exploration and development, she has concluded a set of special needlework techniques and Miao embroidery is inherited successfully. Since 2016, she led Cultural Research Institute of Chengbu Miao Embroidery and provided training of Miao embroidery for the left-behind women in rural villages like Chang An Ying, Bai Mao Ping, Ting Ping and Dan Kou and helped them to get rid of poverty with handicraft. During these four years, she has trained over 1200 women, helped over 200 women in rural areas get a job in the village and led more than 170 poor people who are recorded in the document to get rid of poverty. In recent years, Wu Qianjin’s Miao embroidery works have won many gold awards in national, provincial and municipal competition. She has won “Hunan Pacesetter of Women' Achievements”, “Hunan Excellent Inheritor of Traditional Handicraft” and “Shaoyang Advanced Worker of Poverty Relief”.

It is reported that with the topic of “Innovation, Customization”, the Second World Eco-Design Conference is a platform for people from all social sectors to present innovative products of ecological design and it gathers design talents throughout the world. Design organizations, institutes, enterprises and colleges from over 30 countries gathered in Conghua to discuss new opportunities, new challenges, and new trend in the world’s design industry.
